The TD Bank branch teller “did a really nice job of calling immediately after realizing the check was fake,” Detective Sgt. Adam Kopesky told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon. “Cresskill police also immediately sent units.”

All three were in a car parked outside the bank when Officer Jakub Glebocki and Detective Wayne Hall arrived at 6:45 p.m., Kopesky said.

Brittney Gaeta, 30, of Bayshore (above, middle), remained with the car, while Jesse (Owen) Murray, 24, of Islip (above, right), began walking away, the sergeant said.

Gaeta and Murray were immediately taken into custody. They were being held on $20,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail.

Gamal Maobi King, 32, of North Babylon (above, right) ran and was chased down and eventually subdued after resisting, he said.

They were each charged with two counts of forgery and one of theft by deception.

King also was charged with resisting arrest and criminal trespassing. His bail was $30,000.
