Port Authority Police: Woodland Park TSA Screener Caught Swiping Watch

WOODLAND PARK, NJ -- Witnesses at Newark Airport pointed Port Authority police to a TSA screener from Woodland Park who swiped a passenger's watch, authorities told Daily Voice.

Daniel Ortiz, 39, had the victim's watch in his uniform pants pocket after removing it from a passenger's jewelry bag during the screening process, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said.

Ortiz was released on a summons pending a March 2 hearing in Elizabeth Municipal Court on theft charges.
