Paramus detectives detailed to commercial parking lots moved in after seeing the deal go down in the parking lot of the Route 4 Shop Rite, Detective Capt. Robert M. Guidetti said this afternoon.

Arrested were Emily Mattessich, 22, and 39-year-old Steven Hollar, who Guidetti said had just bought 50 tiny envelopes of “World Star” heroin for $140, and Jirell Williams, 28, of Paterson, who he said sold it to them.

Mattessich was charged with one count of heroin possession and one of drug paraphernalia possession.

Hollar was charged with one count of loitering to buy drugs.

Both were released pending a Municipal Court hearing.

Williams, meanwhile, was being held on $25,000 bail on drug distribution charges.

“Situational crime prevention” details are used “as a technique to reduce crime and focus on pattern crimes throughout the borough,” Guidetti said.
