Man Struck By Train In Paterson Ends Up On Street Below Trestle

PATERSON, N.J. -- A man struck and killed by a train ended up beneath a trestle in Paterson.

Witnesses told Daily Voice the man rolled down an embankment before ending up on Governor Street.

The Main Line Train No. 1212 left Waldwick at 8:56 a.m. and was due to arrive in Hoboken at 9:52 a.m.

Witnesses told Daily Voice the man rolled down an embankment before ending up on Governor Street near Straight Street just west of the Paterson station around 9:15 a.m.

Jim Smith of NJ Transit said Main Line Train No. 1212 left Waldwick at 8:56 a.m. and was due to arrive in Hoboken at 9:52 a.m.

No one onboard was injured, he said.

NJ Transit police were investigating, Smith said.

Service was resumed at 10 a.m.
