Fake Facebook page of ex-BF gets woman arrested

A 24-year-old woman was arrested on charges of creating a Facebook page in her ex-boyfriend’s name that said he liked to have sex with young boys — and his sisters.

Little Falls police confirmed charging the Totowa woman with impersonation and harassment after obtaining a subpoena for the page creator’s IP address and tracing it straight to her.

The 22-year-old victim reportedly called them after two of his siblings found the page, which combined his first name with the last name Syphilis.

It was ironic, considering dubious reports nearly three years ago that linked social networking sites to an increase in casual sex  — and a corresponding boost in STDs.

The new page included photos that the woman allegedly swiped from her ex’s genuine Facebook page, including some in which he refers to sexually transmitted diseases.

Because it technically is a domestic violence case, police cannot release the name of the woman, who was released pending a Municipal Court hearing.

The page has since been taken down.

Experts say there are still somewhere in the neighborhood of 85 million phony Facebook accounts and pages.
