Clifton police charge Newark man with 3 bank robberies in three days

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A man who authorities said robbed a Clifton bank this morning was the same one who held up two others the past three days.

They identified him as 43-year-old Jarjisu Issah of Newark, formerly of the Bronx, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.

Clifton police grabbed Issah about a half-hour after the 11 a.m. holdup of the Clifton Savings Bank on Lakeview Avenue today.

They said he also robbed the Getty Avenue Valley National Bank branch yesterday and Spencer Savings Bank on Piaget Avenue a day earlier — passing notes demanding cash in all three. No weapons were shown, they said.

Clifton Sgt. Maurice Scardigno was looking for a blue SUV spotted in yesterday’s holdup when he spotted it as Jarjisu fled from this morning’s robbery.

The Passaic County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.
