Study: Somerset County Residents Among State's Most Generous Somerset ranks third among all the state's 21 counties for charitable contributions, according to a report prepared by SmartAsset.  In coming up with a measure for generosity, the site looked at how much people donate as a percentage of their net income, and the proportion of people in a given county who made charitable donations.
