Infant Locked Inside Hot Car In Stafford, No-Show Father Sought: Police Police in Stafford County were looking for the dad of a one-month-old girl who was locked in a hot car over the weekend, they said.Officers found the baby on Sunday, Sept. 18 near Ferry Road and Randolph Road, with no parents or guardians in sight, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. The baby's father, 32-year-old Joseph Carratura, was contacted. He told police he would arrive at the convenience store, where the baby was left alone, shortly after their conversation, officials reported. Passenger Shot In Leg As Gunfire Hits Car: Manassas City Police A late night shooting in Manassas ended with a passenger of a car getting shot in the leg, police said. At around midnight on September 15, an individual, standing in a group of men, shot at the victims' car while they were driving near the 9000 block of Bonham Circle, according to the Manassas City Police Department. The passenger of the car was hit in the leg by the gunfire and sustained non-life threatening injuries, authorities reported. Developing: Robber Flees Arlington Bank, Potentially Armed: Police Arlington police responded to reports of a bank robbery on Friday, September 16, officials said.At around 2:45 p.m., officers responded to a bank in the 2500 block of Wilson Boulevard that was allegedly robbed, according to the Arlington County Police Department. Stafford Student Faces Vandalism Charges For Shattered Bus Windshield: Police A Stafford County student is facing charges after they vandalized a school bus, officials said. Before 5 p.m. on September 14, a student damaged a school bus located in the 200 block of Poplar Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. The student allegedly chucked a water bottle at the school bus while they were in a different bus driving by, authorities said. Missing Child From Fairfax Could Be In Danger: Police Fairfax County police are searching for a missing 11-year-old, officials said. Tristan Harris was last seen on September 15, at around 4 p.m. in the 3700 block of Persimmon Circle, according to Fairfax County police. He is 5'2, 160 pounds, and was last wearing a pink and white shirt, with dark pants and a black backpack, before he went missing, authorities reported. Harris is considered endangered because he is only 11 years old, police said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact police at 703-691-2131.

DC Police Seek Suspect Who Robbed Postal Worker At Gunpoint D.C. police are looking to identify the man who robbed a U.S. postal worker at gunpoint, officials said. At around 5:30 p.m. on September 12, the postal worker was approached by the suspect in the 1100 block K Street, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. The suspect pulled out a gun and demanded the worker hand over their property, authorities said. Once the victim complied, the suspect fled the scene, police reported. Bed Bath & Beyond Closing Leesburg Store A Virginia Bed Bath & Beyond is closing, the company reported. The Leesburg store, located at 532 Fort Evans Road, will soon close its doors, according to a list of 56 Bed Bath & Beyond locations that are closing by the end of 2022. The CEO of the home good retailer leapt to his death early this month from a New York City building. Shares in Bed Bath & Beyond dropped sharply in August, after the company announced a restructuring plan that it said would result in the closure of "150 lower-producing stores."

The Confederacy Falls Again: Fairfax County Moving Forward With Highway Name Changes The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted to change two highway names that are tied to the confederacy. After a nine to one vote, Lee highway and Lee-Jackson highway will now be called Route 29 and Route 50, respectively. This vote came after a year's worth of work from the Confederate Names Task Force of Fairfax County. Buses Of Migrants Dropped Off Near Vice President Kamala Harris' DC Home In clear protest of the Biden administration's immigration policies, Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent two buses of migrants to Vice President Kamala Harris' DC home, according to reports. Man Who Threatened To Bomb Stafford School Has History Of Fake Calls: Police James Hash II, the man who made threats to bomb Conway Elementary School in Stafford, has a history with making fake calls, police said. Officers conducted an investigation into the fake calls and discovered that the suspect's phone had been used 30 times, between April and August, to make false reports, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.
