Kevin Lewis, of Somerset, was being held in the Somerset County Jail Monday on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder and weapons offenses, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.

No injuries were reported when Lewis fired 27 shots into an occupied Barker Road home in Franklin Township around 4:30 a.m., Dec. 30, 2019, Robertson said.  The 70-year-old victim was treated and released from an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Just before 3:30 p.m., police responded to a third 9-1-1 call reporting multiple shots fired near Churchill Avenue, according to authorities.

A 19-year-old man later identified as Samaad Frazier was found with gunshot wounds in a car behind a house on Churchill Avenue, Robertson and Fodor said.

First responders performed life-saving medical aid before Frazier was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Detectives identified Lewis as a suspect in the first two shootings, and arrested him last week without incident. Rome Cruz, Christopher Williams and Omar Griggs had previously been arrested in connection with the shootings.

Lewis was jailed pending a bail detention hearing.
