Paramus Officer Chases Ex-Con Car Thief Down GSP Following Route 17 Pier One Mercedes Theft A Paramus police officer nabbed an ex-con with a history of pursuits after a car stolen from Pier One Imports on Route 17 was involved in a chase down the Garden State Parkway Monday night that ended in a crash in East Orange. The store employee’s 2013 Mercedes Benz was warming up during Monday’s Arctic-like temperatures when at least two thieves jumped in and took off just after 9 p.m., Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.
