Michael Vucinaj, 23, was turned over to the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office to be jailed on warrants after being stopped at 6:30 p.m. and charged with possession of the syringe and paraphernalia and with being under the influence, Police Chief Michael Foligno said this morning.

Barely 35 minutes later, Elmwood Park officers arrested a borough man, 18-year-old Bryan Alfieri, on drug distribution charges.

Police seized an ounce or so or marijuana and $550 in alleged drug proceeds from Alfieri after arresting him at the corner of Mill Street and Palsa Avenue following an investigation by the department’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit, Foligno said.

He was released on a court summons.
