Upstairs Neighbor Killed In Hudson County Apartment Fire A 72-year-old man died in a Secaucus fire late Sunday, Jan. 15, authorities said. John Meisenburg was found inside of a third floor unit after a fire broke out in a second floor unit at caround 11:50 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Meisenburg was taken to Hudson Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:52 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16. A preliminary investigation by the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force found that while the fire originated in a second floor unit, Meisenburg's third floor unit suffered heavy smoke damage. Man Critically Burned In Secaucus Fire A 56-year-old man was left critically burned in a Secaucus high-rise fire Friday, April 8, authorities said. Multiple smoke detector notifications brought police and firefighters to The Elms on Fifth Street around 2:35 p.m., where heavy smoke was coming from unit 406, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The 56-year-old man inside the unit was found with life-threatening injuries.
