Bridgeport Man Charged With Shooting Suspected Burglar BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A Bridgeport man who shot a man in the face after he broke into his work van was arrested Tuesday and released on $7,500 bond, according to the Connecticut Post. George Berry, 30, was charged with first-degree assault and attempted first-degree assault after shooting 27-year-old Nicholas Aviles, who admitted to breaking into Berry’s van in the early morning of Dec. 16, the Connecticut Post said. Sleepy Hollow H.S. ‘Penny Wars’ Raises $3,100 For Make-a-wish SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- A fundraising war between the classes at Sleepy Hollow High School during Spirit Week in September ended with $3,116 being donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Hudson Valley to help grant wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
