$1M Lottery Jackpot: Great Barrington Man Collects Major Payday A Berkshire County man said he still hasn't decided how he'll spend his newfound fortune after winning $1 million in the Massachusetts State Lottery. He's still getting over the shock of it all.  Richard Swiater, of Great Barrington, won the seven-figure payday playing "$4,000,000 Monopoly Doubler” $10 scratch-off ticket.  Swiater chose to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity.  He bought the ticket at Silk’s Variety store at 107 Main St. in Sheffield. The store will get a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

$100K Lottery Ticket Sold In Worcester It was a very lucky Monday, April 8, for one Bay Stater after they won $100,000 in the Massachusetts State Lottery.  The six-figure ticket was for the $30 scratch-off game "$15,000,000 Money Maker." It was purchased at Shaw's at 14 W Boylston St. in Worcester.   The winner's name was not released, but the store will receive a bonus for the sale.  They were one of 658 people who won $650 or more in the state lottery. Some Of The Bests Photos Of The Eclipse Taken Across Massachusetts While Massachusetts was not in the "totality zone" for Monday afternoon's solar eclipse, it still was a monumental event. Many Bay Staters snapped and shared impressive photos of the rare celestial event.  The zone of totality, where 100 percent of the sun was blocked by the moon, was a little more than 100 miles wide and stretched from Mexico to Maine.
