What began as a home burglary in Fair Lawn ended with a crash in Franklin Lakes and the arrest of the driver exactly 12 hours later. An out-of-town resident reported remotely seeing two burglars on a security camera in her Koenig Court home just off Route 208 at 8:06 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Driver, 67, Revived With Narcan After Causing Route 208 Crash: Police
An overdosing 67-year-old motorist had to be revived with Narcan after his sedan struck another at a Route 208 exit in Franklin Lakes, authorities said. Robert Mutzberg of Franklin Lakes was taken to The Valley Hospital following the crash at the intersection of the northbound highway and Summit Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday, April 15, Police Capt. Bear Struck, Killed On Route 208
A motorist escaped injury when her sedan struck and killed a small black bear on Route 208, authorities said. The 30-year-old Haskell resident was headed north by herself on the highway when her 2016 Subaru WRX hit the bear between Ewing and Summit avenues in Franklin Lakes around 11 p.m. Friday, Capt. Mark McCombs said. She was OK, but the vehicle had to be towed, McCombs said. The state Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife collected the bear.

Firefighters Free Driver In Franklin Lakes Rollover
Franklin Lakes firefighters freed a heavily entrapped driver after a rollover crash. The Cadillac Escalade was on its side on Summit Avenue at Lynn Drive when responders arrived shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and began removing the roof before turning over the driver to the Franklin Lakes Volunteer Ambulance Corps for transportation to an area hospital. Firefighters Extricate Driver With Severe Head Injury In Crash Off Route 208
A driver suffered traumatic head injuries and had to be extricated by Franklin Lakes firefighters after she ran a stop sign and her car was hit by a truck, authorities said. The 27-year-old Paterson driver had exited northbound Route 208 to Summit Avenue shortly before 7:30 a.m., Police Sgt. Denny G. Knubel said. She made a left onto Summit without stopping and her Nissan Sentra was struck by a Freightliner driven by a 66-year-old borough man, Knubel said. Former NFL defensive end Rob Burnett was arrested and charged with DWI after crashing his truck a couple blocks from his Franklin Lakes home, authorities said. Burnett, 53, was driving a 2020 Dodge Ram that veered off Summit Avenue and crashed in a wooded area off Route 208 near Lynn Drive shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Capt. John Bakelaar said. A Franklin Lakes police officer wasn't seriously injured in a crash with a stolen SUV during a pre-dawn pursuit Thursday, authorities said. A Highwoods Drive resident called police just after 2:45 a.m. to report someone trying to break into his vehicle, Capt. John Bakelaar said. A Wanaque father has been identified as the driver who was incinerated Thursday morning by a live utility wire in Franklin Lakes. Anthony Gonzalez, a father of three, died after driving around traffic cones and trying to move a downed wire in that was blocking Summit Avenue near the intersection of Route 208 just before 9 a.m., authorities said.
