1960s Rolls Royce Destroyed By Fire At NJ Transit Garage A fire at a New Jersey Transit parking garage destroyed an old-fashioned Rolls Royce on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Ramsey's Deputy Chief Jim Dougherty said two lines were needed to put out the blaze on the first floor of the garage. The blaze erupted at the Spring Street lot off of Route 17 around 12:30 p.m., bringing additional units to the scene, Dougherty said. Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Route 17 On Christmas Eve A pedestrian was struck and killed on Christmas Eve on Route 17 in Ramsey, responders said. Initial details were scant. What is known is that the male victim was struck around 8 p.m. in the left southbound lane of the highway outside a BP station. Police shut down the highway at Spring Street and initially summoned a medical chopper to land at the Ramsey Square shopping center on the opposite side of the highway.
