A 27-year-old Denville man was arrested and charged after he struck a police officer while fleeing on Sunday, Oct. 20, authorities said. While officers were conducting a traffic stop on Indian Road, it was discovered the driver, Liam Harrigan, had an active NCIC Warrant out of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Denville police said. As officers attempted to take Harrigan into custody, he fled from them in his vehicle, police said. An arrest has been made in a shootout that left one man dead over the weekend. Uvaldo Mora, 28, is accused of exchanging gunfire with the 33-year-old man at Straight Street and Park Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. A driver stopped for speeding on Route 78 early Wednesday was found with both ecstasy pills and powder, authorities said. Donald Thomas, 37, was stopped for speeding on Route 78 in Readington Township around 1:50 a.m., local police said. Authorities have released the cause of death for Juvaunne Gordon, a 26-year-old MMA fighter from Hackensack. On April 20 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Gordon was ejected from his 2006 Nissan Altima after crashing the vehicle and striking a power box, Newport News, Virginia police said.
