Prospect Park PD: Gang Members Who Took $167G In Jewelry, Cash, Guns Nabbed
Prospect Park detectives cracked a series of burglaries, arresting two self-proclaimed Trinitario gang members who they said stole more than $167,000 in jewelry, cash, watches, electronics – and guns. Detective Walter Richmond and Officer Arthur Canestrino were reviewing surveillance footage from a burglary last Friday when they identified a car whose owner said a 17-year-old Passaic boy had been using it at the time. Hackensack Police Seized Loaded, Defaced Gun From Assault Defendant
Hackensack police seized a handgun that they said an assault defendant had stashed in a duffle bag. The 9mm Smith & Wesson seized from Gabriel Lora, 32, had a defaced serial number and a magazine that was loaded with eight rounds, Capt. Peter Busciglio said. Police were called last Wednesday after Lora returned to an address where he slapped, bit and shoved a victim earlier in the day, Busciglio said. Port Authority PD: Traveler Caught With Pistol, Ammo In Carry-On Bag
TSA agents at Newark Airport found a loaded handgun in the carry-on bag of a Pennsylvania man who was immediately taken into custody, Port Authority police said. Adam Scott, 52, of Barto, PA also had five hollow-point bullets in his bag along with the Smith & Wesson .38-caliber pistol as it passed through the X-ray screener Saturday afternoon, the authority's Joseph Pentangelo said.
