Jobless Lodi Bartender Charged With Setting Bank Fire
LODI, N.J. -- An unemployed bartender poured a flammable liquid inside a Lodi bank vestibule and ignited it, said authorities who charged him with arson Tuesday.
Bergen County sheriff’s officers found and arrested Rashit Perez, 30, of Lodi in Paramus on Monday, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said.
Around 10:30 the night before, Calo said, Perez, of Westervelt Place, ignited the fire in the vestibule of the Bank of America on Hunter Street, the prosecutor said.
A judge ordered Perez released Wednesday with conditions pending further court action on arson and weapons charges.
