Pedestrian Killed On NJ Turnpike
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on the NJ Turnpike in Mercer County Saturday, April 16, authorities said. The crash occurred on the northbound side of the highway in the outer roadway at milepost 68.4 in East Windsor around 12:25 p.m., New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez said. The driver of the car that struck the victim remained on scene and was not injured while the pedestrian was pronounced dead, Goez said. The right two lanes were closed for accident investigation.

2 PA State Troopers, Civilian Dead On I-95
Two Pennsylvania State Troopers and one civilian were struck and killed on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia overnight, authorities said. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes near Broad Street around 12:40 a.m. Monday, March 21, PSP said. Police were trying to get the man, who was walking on the highway, into their patrol car when they were struck, NBC10 reports. All three were thrown into the northbound lanes. Authorities were expected to release more information during a press conference at 11 a.m.

Dog Struck, Killed, 80-Year-Old Owner Injured Crossing Ridgewood Street
A small dog was killed and an 80-year-old Ridgewood woman apparently suffered a broken bone when both were struck crossing a village street, authorities said. They were crossing Broad Street when a Jeep Liberty driven by a 39-year-old Mahwah woman turned from East Ridgewood Avenue and struck both of them around 10 a.m. Monday, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. An 83-year-old pedestrian from Waldwick was hospitalized -- and got a ticket -- after she was struck in Hackensack by an SUV driven by an 80-year-old Westwood woman, authorities said. A 79-year-old Ridgefield Park pedestrian who was struck by a van while in a crosswalk Friday died of her injuries, authorities said. The 67-year-old Ford van driver from Westwood made a left into Sima Nightingale as she crossed at the corner of Main and Mount Vernon streets shortly after 9:30 a.m., Police Lt. Art Jensen said. Support is surging for a Gloucester High School senior struck and killed by a vehicle while walking to school Friday.
