Community Mourns Newton Teen Alexis Faye Killed In Crash
White ribbons for her favorite color were tied on mailboxes, trees and lamp posts over the weekend in Newton honoring Alexis "Lexi" Faye. The 17-year-old Newton High School student was killed in a rollover accident Saturday in Fredon, a day after her school's prom. Two other teens including the driver were seriously injured in the crash and flown via helicopter to Morristown Medical Center. Dozens had signed up to contribute to a meal train for the family. White ribbons will be tied around Newton to honor a 17-year-old high school student who died in a car crash over the weekend. Alexis Faye, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene after the Mercedes Benz she was riding in veered off the road and overturned Saturday around 5:40 p.m. in Fredon, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Former Morris County College Student, 19, Dies After Fall From Second-Floor Window
A 19-year-old former Morris County college student died after falling 30 feet from the window of a Sussex County building, authorities said. Lindsey Anne Wright of Byram, who studied biology at County College of Morris in Randolph, fell Friday from the window of the former Windmere Hotel in Newton around 10:40 p.m. Friday night, the Daily Record reports. Nearly half of 44 heroin bags that Wayne police found a couple carrying after stopping their nearly 20-year-old sedan were stamped “Kurt Cobain,” authorities said. Officer Thomasz Cydzik and Sgt. Convicted Bank Robber Accused Of Holding Up Hackensack TD Branch
A convicted bank robber was captured Wednesday and charged with holding up a Hackensack TD Bank branch two months ago, authorities said. City police were with FBI agents and colleagues from other agencies who scooped up Myron V. Anderson Jr., 38, in West Orange around 2 p.m. Wednesday, they said. Anderson is suspected in several North Jersey bank robberies, including one Monday at a TD branch in Sussex County.
