Cops ID NJ Pilot, Passenger Killed In I-684 Plane Crash
Authorities have released the identities of both the pilot who survived and the passenger who died in a small plane crash that shut down Interstate 684 at the border of Fairfield, CT and Westchester, CT counties for hours.
Kalmen Goldberger, 26, of Linden, NJ, had reported engine trouble before the single-engine Tecnam P-2008 went down in the center median of I-684 near Exit 2 in Harrison Thursday, Dec. 12 around 7:15 p.m., officials said.

Pediatric Dentist, Affiliates In NJ, NY Pay $750,000 For Unneeded Root Canals On Kids
A group of pediatric dentists in New Jersey and New York who were outed by a former worker for conducting medically unnecessary root canals on children agreed to pay more than $750,000 to settle charges against them, authorities in both states announced.
Formerly known as HQRC Management Services LLC, the targeted practice was run by dentist Barry L. Jacobson, most recently of Alpine, NJ, they said.
It included offices in Teaneck, Wyckoff, and Paterson in New Jersey and in the Bronx, Flushing, Valley Stream, Boro Park, Kingston, Monsey, Albany and Malone in New York.

The search continued for a young Rockland teen who went missing late last month.
Bryanah Etienne, a 14-year-old from Monsey, is about 5-foot-3 and roughly 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, said police in Spring Valley, which is near the New Jersey border.
The region has quick access to Route 287 and the Garden State Parkway -- both of which head into the Garden State.

A rear-view mirror hanging off a new SUV drew the attention of a Mahwah police detective who ended up busting a Rockland dealer and a companion with meth and an assortment of other drugs for sale at a local hotel, authorities said.
Before they were done, police had seized meth, cocaine, methadone, clonazepam, hypodermic needles and packaging materials, Police Chief Stephen Jaffe said.
