Paramus Resident Rescues Elderly Neighbor From House Fire A Paramus home was filling with smoke when a kind and courageous resident rescued an elderly neighbor. The Nov. 4 afternoon blaze apparently ignited in a microwave of the Willard Road home near Midland Avenue. It then spread to kitchen cabinets and eventually into the attic. Firefighters opened the roof and doused the blaze as Paramus EMS members wrapped the senior resident in blankets while tending to him on the front lawn of a neighbor's home. Boyd A. Paramus Passersby Rescue Victims After SUVs Collide Head On, Burst Into Flames HEROES: Passersby pulled three victims from their vehicles following a fiery wrong-way head-on crash Friday night in Paramus that critically injured one of the drivers, authorities confirmed. A BMW SUV carrying two men was headed south on the wrong side of Paramus Road near Alpine Drive when it slammed head-on into a Honda SUV occupied by a female driver shortly before 5:30 p.m., Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.
