Detectives had identified Pereyra in the July 2 shooting of a 36-year-old Haskell resident in the area of Prospect Street and Market Street in Paterson. Bear Struck, Killed On Route 208 A motorist escaped injury when her sedan struck and killed a small black bear on Route 208, authorities said. The 30-year-old Haskell resident was headed north by herself on the highway when her 2016 Subaru WRX hit the bear between Ewing and Summit avenues in Franklin Lakes around 11 p.m. Friday, Capt. Mark McCombs said. She was OK, but the vehicle had to be towed, McCombs said. The state Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Fish and Wildlife collected the bear.

Haskell Woman, 33, Killed In Bloomingdale Crash A 33-year-old Haskell woman was killed in a crash Monday night in Bloomingdale, authorities confirmed. Nicole Lisa was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash just after 6 p.m. on Union Avenue, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Bloomingdale Police Chief Joseph Borell said in a joint release Tuesday. The Wanaque native's 2018 Jeep Compass hit a telephone pole and rolled, trapping her inside, they said. He crossed lanes and crashed through at least two road signs before his car came to a stop, police also said.  The driver was issued a summons for careless driving.  Police remind drivers to take it slow and to activate their headlights and wipers in snowy, rainy or icy conditions.
