A Bergen County man and his associate are accused of scamming a childhood friend into liquidating her retirement account to fund a software venture, then misusing the money for personal expenses, the New Jersey Attorney Generalβs Office announced.
Michael Lakshin of Fair Lawn and Edward "Eddie" Aizman of Brooklyn, NY, along with their company Bowmo, Inc., face a civil enforcement action for defrauding at least one New Jersey investor, according to a complaint filed by the New Jersey Bureau of Securities on Friday, Nov. 22.

Racing BMW Driver, 20, Crashes, Injures Young Family On Route 3: Police
A BMW driver is facing multiple charges after crashing and injuring a family of four on Route 3 on Thursday, Oct. 3, authorities said.
Hamza M. Abdelaziz, 20, of Clifton, was racing in a 2023 black BMW 540 when he struck the Fair Lawn family's vehicle on the Berryβs Creek Bridge in the eastbound lanes in Rutherford, just prior to the East Rutherford border around 1:10 p.m., Rutherford Police Chief John Russo said.
A 35-year-old man, 35-year-old woman, 5-year-old girl, and 3-year-old girl all reported injuries following the crash, Russo said.

A 26-year-old Fair Lawn man is facing charges for calling and emailing false threats to law enforcement agencies across Bergen County, authorities announced
Clyde Johnson has been charged with false public alarm in the series of anonymous calls and emails to Franklin Lakes, Paramus, Wyckoff, Maywood, Fair Lawn, Fort Lee, and Bergenfield police departments, as well as local businesses, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
Each time, Johnson reported "an individual armed with a deadly weapon or explosive" Musella said.

Thee people including a 17-year-old were arrested after a high-speed pursuit and subsequent crash in Bergen County early Thursday, June 20, police said.
Oakland police officer Karley Greulich saw a man in all black with his hoodie up and a ski mask near Enterprise Rent-a-Car around 2:40 a.m., Oakland police Capt. Timothy Keenan said.
Upon seeing her patrol car, the man, later identified as Yordalis Reyes-Fernandez, 20, of Paterson ran to his red SUV, which was parked behind M&T Bank, and tried to flee the area, Keenan said.

John Zisa, Legendary North Jersey Football Coach, Dies At 61
John Zisa, a football coach throughout North Jersey, died on Sunday May 19, at the age of 61, according to his obituary.
Zisa was born and raised in Paterson and moved to Fair Lawn in 1974, his obituary reads. He coached for more than 26 years at Paterson Catholic, Paramus Catholic, Rutherford and Westwood, according to his coaching biography.
