Second Of Back-To-Back Cresskill Break-Ins Becomes Overnight Home Invasion
The second of back-to-back overnight residential burglaries in Cresskill turned into a home invasion when a group of intruders entered while people living there slept, authorities said. The first break-in was reported around 3:45 a.m. on Park Avenue near County Road, Cresskill Police Capt. Jason Lanzilotti said. Fifteen minutes later, he said, burglars entered a Florence Avenue home near Knickerbocker Road. A married computer tech from Dumont was charged with sexually assaulting an underage teen. Coswayne Donald, 43, “sexually assaulted a child who was between the ages of 13 and 16,” Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Donald was arrested in town on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a minor, aggravated criminal sexual contact and child endangerment through sexual conduct following a joint investigation by Musella’s Special Victims Unit and Dumont police, the prosecutor said. Raging Overnight Fire Destroys River Edge Home
Sections of a River Edge home collapsed during a vicious overnight fire. A dog was killed in the blaze on Eastbrook Drive, near Forest Avenue and Route 4, at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, May 27, according to neighbors. No injuries were otherwise reported.
