It's one of the busiest intersections in the area, but no one apparently saw a 28-year-old pedestrian struck and critically injured over the weekend by a hit-and-run driver in Guttenberg. Now authorities are seeking help from the public. The victim remained stable at Jersey City Medical Center with life-threatening injuries following the crash at the corner of Park Avenue and 70th Street shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, June 1, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said on Monday. Motorcyclist Critically Injured In New Milford Crash
A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash Sunday night in New Milford, authorities said. The motorcycle struck a guardrail at Monmouth Avenue after the 41-year-old rider apparently lost control while heading north on River Road shortly after 9 p.m., Police Chief Brian Clancy said. The New Milford Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the victim to Hackensack University Medical Center in critical condition, the chief said. River Road was reopened around 11 p.m., he said. New Milford police were investigating.

A Port Authority police officer who was struck and critically injured by a drunk driver in Jersey City got a rousing clapout as he left a rehab center less than a month later. A New York woman is facing upgraded and additional charges including a DWI in connection with a Jersey City crash that critically injured a Port Authority police officer, authorities said Tuesday. Amandeep Tiwana, 27, was initially charged with fourth-degree assault by auto after she came speeding down the eastbound side of Route 139 and hit PAPD Officer Peter Siano, III, who was securing the scene of a previous rollover crash with Jersey City police officers around 12:30 a.m., Suarez said.
