Kenia Diaz, 24, also must spend three years on supervised release, under the sentence imposed in Newark by U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton.
Diaz previously admitted flying into Newark from Puerto Rico on May 22, 2013 with the drugs, detected by a K-9 unit.
U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman praised special agents of the DEA with the investigation leading to today’s plea, secured by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas S. Kearney of Fishman’s General Crimes Unit in Newark.
