Westwood police grab two suspected burglars in stolen car

ONLY ON CVP: Westwood police arrested two suspected burglars in a car stolen earlier in the day after an alert resident called them.

Officers stopped the 1981 Cadillac early Thursday night after receiving the call of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Hampton West Apartments on Third venue.

Both men gave conflicting accounts of what they were doing in the area, Sgt. Michael Pontillo said.

They were arrested and taken to the Bergen County Jail on $5,000 bail each.

Messiah K. Arrington, 19, was charged with receiving stolen property, drug and weapons possession, obstruction and possession of burglary tools. He also had outstanding warrants from Newark police and the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.

His passenger, 21-year-old Kameel Busey, was charged with possession of stolen property.
