Westwood Driver, 23, Seriously Injured When Car Hits Montvale Pole

MONTVALE, N.J. -- A 23-year-old Westwood man was hospitalized with internal injuries after his car slammed into a utility pole overnight in Montvale, authorities told Daily Voice.

AirMed One flew Yave Cortes to Hackensack University Medical Center after his 2012 Nissan Altima hit the pole on Main Street just after 2 a.m., Police Chief Jeremy Abrams said.

Orange and Rockland Utilities responded to replace the damaged pole and restore power to 200 or so residents, he said.

An investigation was continuing, the chief said.
