We could ask whom the park was named for, what that person accomplished, what movie told that person’s story. But Google has made those kinds of contests obsolete.
Instead, what if you retell a tale from that magical place? Or recall a memory of a more innocent time — a wacky story, even? Doesn’t matter. Could be from years or days ago.
This week’s winner will be the one who produces the sweetest tale. We’ll print it here, with a picture of you. All the better if you can find an old photo you took at the site. (EDITOR’S NOTE: I’m still digging through boxes for mine.)
“It seems to change in appearance and character as the seasons change,” Joey said. “I love the building in all sorts of light; morning, noon and moonlight. Even the rain brings out details that are otherwise hidden when dry. When the leaves on the trees change, the building reflects those colors, working in concert to create a tapestry so vivid, they’ll rival any sunset!”
Joey Lepore runs his own BICYCLE TOUR: NEW YORK CITY and is the primary contributor to CLIFFVIEWPILOT.COM’s “Where was this photo taken?” series.
