Unfounded scare clears Westwood Regional HS

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Students returned to classes at Westwood Regional Junior-Senior High School after an off-hand remark reportedly overheard by a student sparked a response from school officials, Washington Township and Westwood police and the Bergen County Bomb Squad.

Students were moved to the rear baseball field so the report could be checked out.

According to police, a student reported overhearing another student saying “this place is going to blow,” then told a teacher, who told a vice-principal.

The emergency response followed, they said.
