HILLSDALE, N.J. -- Hillsdale Police Chief Robert Francaviglia played Santa and Capt. Sean Smith an elf during a special two-weekend fundraiser for the Helping Hands Food Pantry at Hillsdale United Methodist Church.

Francaviglia "volunteered his time and knees," with "invaluable assistance" from Smith, who "handed out well received candy canes to one and all who stopped by to have their photos taken with Santa."
