Lodi Police Chief Vincent Caruso, president of the Bergen County Police Chiefs Association, did the honors, as the membership applauded.

DeVoe has been a member of the association since 2001. As president, he said, his goals include increasing collaboration between law enforcement and youth-service agencies, and providing quality training to the association.

Toward that end, he closed the installation meeting with a 30-minute “microtraining” instruction by Hillsdale Police Officer Jeff Angermeyer on Social Networking Liabilities.

“With cuts in staffing being what they are, our organization’s members are being forced to do more with less. Therefore, they aren’t always able to set aside their duties in order to attend a full-day, or multi-day, training,” DeVoe said.

“It is my hope that our microtraining sessions will keep our members up-to-date on issues of concern while taking up very little of their time.”

Besides DeVoe and Eitner, the B.C.J.O.A. 2012 Executive Board includes:
Vice President Denyse Coyle Galda (Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor)
Treasurer Adam Kopesky (Tenafly Detective Sgt.)
Liaison to the Bergen County Chief’s Association / Demarest Chief James Powderly
