Responders rescue Washington Township man, 88, in woods

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: An 88-year-old Washington Township man was hospitalized after police late last night found him dehydrated and disoriented in the woods behind his home, Police Chief Glenn Hooper told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

The Werimus Road victim’s wife told police she left him doing yard work around 5:30 p.m. and returned at 10:20 p.m. to find him not in the house.

Police summoned firefighters who carried him out of the heavy woods, the chief said.

A township ambulance took him to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.
