"The threat was not -- repeat: NOT -- deemed credible," NJ Transit spokeswoman Lisa Torbic told Daily Voice after the 8:20 p.m. incident.
Jordan Konikoff, 30, sustained minor facial cuts when he was struck by the No. 1641 train carrying 15 customers and crew members on the Pascack Valley line just west of the Hillsdale train station, Torbic said.
He was later charged with making terroristic threats, interfering with transportation, using terroristic threats and defiant trespassing, she said.
Service on the line was suspended for about an an hour and 20 minutes, Torbic said. A bus bridge accommodated those on board the 1641, she said.
"The train must have been going at a slow speed," a responder later said. "He was very lucky."
