Narcan save the first for Hillsdale police

SHOUT OUT: Hillsdale police secured their first Narcan save last night when they revived a 19-year-old woman overdosing on heroin.

Sgt. John Carty and Officers Ryan Norton and Mike Camporeale responded around 10 p.m. and turned the victim over to the Hillsdale Ambulance Corps. after reviving her, Police Chief Robert Francaviglia said this afternoon.

She was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, he said.

“Thanks to the officers training they were quickly able to identify this as an overdose and were able to administer the Narcan, saving this resident’s life,” the chief said.
