No one was injured in the 9:55 p.m. crash, Lt. Peter Mauro told Daily Voice early Wednesday.
The car was headed northbound near Maple Terrace when it struck the pole on the east side of Kinderkamack Road, Mauro said.
"The pole was cut in half and landed on the car, along with both the primary and secondary electrical feeder lines, which remained live," he said.
A second vehicle headed southbound on Kinderkamack "got caught up in the downed wires," the lieutenant said.
"The occupants of both remained inside until the Park Ridge Electric Department cut power, [then] they exited their vehicles without incident," he said.
Park Ridge firefighters and the Tri-Boro Ambulance Corps stood by.
"All parties were checked at the scene and released," Mauro said.
Kinderkamack remained closed overnight while repairs were made and power was restored to the surrounding area. It was reopened at 7:30 a.m.
No summonses were issued, the lieutenant said.
