Hillsdale woman, 81, plows car into garage

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A neighbor pulled an 81-year-old Hillsdale woman out after she hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and plowed her car into her garage.

The Drake Drive resident was taken by the Washington Volunteer Ambulance Corps to a local hospital with what police described as injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

Hillsdale’s chief construction code official was at the scene, concerned over the structural integrity of the home.

The woman’s car demolished several support beams, as well as the garage’s back wall.

Firefighters from Hillsdale and Westwood worked to stabilize the structure to prevent collapse.
