Half-pound pot, packaging materials found as Port Authority police arrest pair at Holland Tunnel

BEYOND BERGEN: Port Authority police seized a half-pound of pot and packaging materials — including 17 mason jars and more than 400 baggies — from two Hoboken men stopped near the Holland Tunnel yesterday.

PAPD Officer Joshua Oliveri stopped their white 1996 Toyota at 18th Street and Jersey Avenue for a cracked windshield and smelled raw marijuana coming from the open driver’s window, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said this morning.

A computer checked showed the driver, Luis A. Rosario, 32, had a suspended license and an open child support warrant for hs pasenger, 28-year-old Luis Johnson, he sad.

Sticking out from under the driver’s seat was a mason jar filled with pot, Pentangelo said.

Both were being held on $35,000 each at the Hudson County Correctional Facility, charged with various drug counts.
