Five people will be chosen to attend the Jan. 19 inauguration of Christie and Lt. Gov.-Elect Kim Guadagno in Trenton, and all of the nominees will be included on the inaugural web site.

Christie is taking a cue from MLB’s “All-Stars Among Us” campaign, in which 30 community-minded individuals  from across the U.S. and Canada were selected to appear at this past summer’s All Star game. Three finalists per club were chosen from thousands of nominations, with one eventually chosen from each to step onto the field at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

“Tell us who your New Jersey hero is and how he or she is making a difference right here at home,” Christie’s inauguration campaign says on its web site. “Nominate the man or woman who has dedicated his or her time and efforts to making New Jersey a better place to live.”
