Florida man, 77, charged with sexually abusing River Vale girl, 11

Bernard Starr, a married retiree who turned 77 last Wednesday, was being held on $400,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment.

Starr, of Port St. Lucie, was arrested after the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli’s Special Victims Unit, Molinelli said this morning.

An arraignment is set for next Tuesday afternoon, he said.
