The fire at Valentino’s broke out in the basement just before 4 o’clock and escalated to three alarms quickly, emergency responders said.
Departments from several Pascack towns converged on the Spring Valley Road eatery, which was closed before dinner, and extinguished the entire blaze within an hour.
Owner Angelo Colella reportedly was the only person in the restaurant, which he opened more than 30 years ago. He got out safely, emergency workers said.
