Event this weekend for Joan D’Alessandro Foundation

A special fundraiser for the Joan Angela D’Alessandro Foundation — named for the 7-year-old Hillsdale girl killed a a neighbor — is set for this Saturday, with Glo-Putt mini golf, basketball, soccer and arcade games, along with valuable child safety advice.

There’ll be raffles and other chances for children to win prizes.

“It will be a great evening that we hope brings awareness to child protection in a fun setting,” said Joan’s mother, Rosemarie, one of New Jersey’s leading children’s safety advocates.

The nonprofit foundation is dedicated to promoting child safety and protection, advancing victims’ rights and helping abused, homeless and neglected youth.

The venue: The Sports Place, 600 Bradley Parkway, Blauvelt, New York (2 miles south of the Palisades Mall)

Time: 6:30-9:30 p.m. Sat., March 12.

Tickets: $20/child, and $50 for a family with 3 children or more. Parents get in free.
