Emerson man, 44, charged with sexually assaulting girl, 12

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: An Emerson man was arrested by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and borough police on charges of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl three years ago.

Karl Weckstrom, 44, of Hasbrouck Avenue was being held on $100,000 bail, charged with aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment.

Weckstrom, an IT worker who is married, was arrested Friday after local authorities were alerted by the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency.

“The victim was interviewed and confirmed that the sexual assault had taken place,” Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this morning.

An arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 14.
