Nearly 100 vehicles were stopped at the designated spot on Rivervale Road, Sgt. John DeVoe said.

In addition to those who received summonses, a 27-year-old drunk driver from just across the state border, Pearl River, was also charged with having illegal emergency lights on his vehicle, the sergeant said.

The motorist, who had expired NYFD credentials, also was charged with being under the influence of drugs.

A 36-year-old driver from Hyattsville, MD, who also was charged with drunk driving had to be pulled over by police a half-mile up the road after he disregarded an officer’s signal to stop, DeVoe said.

He was also charged with careless driving and failing to obtain a New Jersey driver’s license.
