Gregory O. Cannell, 46, is being held on $100,000 bail at the Bergen County Jail, charged with aggravated arson, among other counts.

Megan Fatuova, 44, of Ramsey, was charged with failing to report or control a fire but, instead, “driving the two away from the scene,” Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon. She was released without bail pending a court hearing.

A neighbor reported the blaze around 6:45 Saturday night. Several departments responded and extinguished the fire but not before it caused “significant damage” to the single-family house, Molinelli said.

No one was inside when the fire broke out, and no injuries were reported, the prosecutor said.

Molinelli said detectives from his Arson Task Force found that the fire “was set purposely with the use of an accelerant” — specifically gasoline that was poured in the living room and kitchen area and then ignited with a cigarette lighter or a match.
