Cops find accused crack dealer armed and dangerous

Police don’t know who or what he was expecting, but when they searched 29-year-old Justin Bennett’s Teaneck house, they said, they found several weapons, in addition to cocaine for sale. He has a court date today to be officially notified of the weapons and drug charges against him.

A tipster led detectives to Bennett, who was arrested after leaving his Howland Avenue home on Friday.

Investigators already had the search warrant in hand, so they grabbed Bennett — who they said was carrying four grams of crack in his sock to delilver to a customer — and then hit the house.

Inside, police said, they found 20 more grams of crack, packaging material, a small amount of marijuana But they also found a .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun, a revolver, and a rifle.

The single, unemployed Bennett is being held on $150,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, pending this afternoon’s scheduled 4 o’clock hearing in Teaneck Municipal Court.
