Clifton Police Nab Teens In Vicious Beating, Robbery Of Boy, 14

CLIFTON, N.J. -- Clifton police charged two juveniles with beating a 14-year-old city boy so badly during a robbery that he lost consciousness.

The juveniles -- both 16, from Clifton and Rutherford -- were sent to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center, where they were held pending a Family Division hearing on charges of robbery and aggravated assault, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said Tuesday.

Both attacked the victim in an alleyway in the 1200 block of Main Avenue around 3 p.m. Friday.

He was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.
