UPDATE: Investigators on Thursday arrested and charged a Garfield florist and accountant’s partner with killing him with a single gunshot in the back of the head with a .22-caliber rifle, then trying to cover up the killing.

A delivery man told detectives he’d seen Michael A. Murphy at his desk at 9 a.m. and then found his body when he returned to the Midland Avenue business a half-hour later, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli told CLIFFVIEWPILOT.COM.
Murphy, a 56-year-old certified accountant who lived on Kinderkamack Road in Montvale, had a stab or puncture wound in the back of his head, the prosecutor said.
